A Taste of the Caribbean is Quebec’s premier Caribbean cultural event. This 3-day festival is celebrating its 16th year. It starts today June 26th until the 28th and is located in the Old Port at Isle Bonsecours. The hours of the festival are from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Entrance is free between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day.
There are many activities from live cooking demos by international chefs to live mixology demos, street carnival, fashion, concerts by internationally renowned artists and much more. For the low prices of 2, 5 and 8 dollars, you will be able to sample food from 20 Caribbean nations: Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Cuba, etc. Today and tomorrow are going to be beautiful days. I’d love to check out the festival on Saturday afternoon.
I’m particularly excited to see Marida Mohammed, the runner-up from the first edition of Masterchef Canada. She will be coming with her twin sister Narida and their duo is known as Twice De Spice.
For the concerts, you can buy tickets in advance at the cost of 5$ or at the door for 10$.
