P.A. Gargantua

During the Mondial de la Bière in beginning of June Rox and I saw food trucks outside the Palais des Congrès. We discovered the P.A. Gargantua, which specialized in grilled cheese. We thought that it would be better to check out the beer festival inside first and come out later to try a grilled cheese. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn’t want us to try it that day. Rain poured intensely and when the storm was over, the food truck was closed. Since then we promised we would try it together!

We decided to share the grilled cheese as we were trying other things too. We were still intrigued by the Con Carne grilled cheese with homemade chili, sour cream and cajun. The cheese used in all the sandwiches ia a cheddar from l’Île-aux-Grues. The sandwich was mouthwatering, creamy and spicy. I loved the orginality of flavours and was sad to take small bites as I had only half the sandwich.

Rox wanted to try the peach yuzu drink. Unfortunately, they didn’t have it anymore but had a blackcurrant drink, which cost 3 dollars. I didn’t like the taste of it, it was bitter so I let Rox finish it. She did regret her choice a bit especially after trying a hibiscus drink at Grumman’78.

It gets a grade of 3.5/5. Rox was more disappointed than me as we had created so much hype. I thought the grilled cheese sandwiches were a bit overpriced. The Con Carne one cost 8,50 dollars. It would have had an higher grade if a drink was included. Also there were some options for vegetarians.
