Winter is the most depressing season of the year but I find that Montreal always has something to make it somewhat enjoyable. It seems that winter 2013 is filled of activities, some I had never heard of such as the Happening Gourmand. At it’s 6th edition, it offers a table d’hôte of selected restaurants in the Old Port for a fraction of the price, from 23 to 27 dollars. It’s the Montreal version of “New York restaurant week” but it lasts a month here, from January 10th to February 3rd. The perfect occassion for people who always wanted to try these upscale restaurants but have a tight budget.
Check them out: Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Restaurant Modavie, Taverne Gaspar, Méchant Boeuf, Suit 701, Bevo bar + Pizzéria, Restaurant Verses and Aix Cuisine du Terroir.
I will at least try one new place and definitely post my review here!
p.s. If you’re a fan of Igloofest, you can get 5 dollars off your ticket when you get a table d’hôte!
